Getting the hang of blogging.

A typical Irish home.

Hello Again and Welcome -

I’m slowly getting the hang of this blogging thing.

I have updated some info including my bio, and an essay I wrote about my grandmother and her influence on my life and my book, The Yellow House. I wonder how many of you out there have “grandmother” stories? I think they have been seriously underrated. Many of us owe a great deal to them – I know how much I owe mine.

As I go along here, I hope to give you a glimpse into the ups and downs, delights and frustrations, panic and euphoria of having a first book published. Most days I feel as if I am caught in a washing machine spin cycle – then I pause and realize how lucky I am.

Wishing you all a great week.

I just bought the book today as a mothers day present. It sounds amazing and I know my mom will love it!

I just finished reading “The Yellow House and I LOVED it! I honestly could not put it down – it was one of the best books I have read in years. I will be waiting anxiously for your second book. Sincerely, Marilyn Finnegan

I just finished reading The Yellow House. My mother was born in Mullaghbawn Ireland. I often heard stories of Newry, Dundalk, Crossmaglen, Slieve Gullion and the Troubles. Your novel put the troubles in perspective. I truly enjoyed every page and await your next book.

It’s past two in the morning and I’ve just finished your book. A beautiful story. I had a dreamy gawk at your photo before I closed the book. A beautiful story by a beautiful lady.

You have a wonderful blog. I, too, am new to blogging. Look forward to future posts and reading The Yellow House.

Take care,
Joan

I loved The Yellow House. My Irish roots are from my husband’s side so I didn’t grow up with the Irish influence … but after reading your book, I wish I had. Hope to read more of your books.
